Founded in 1999 in Hayward, California, Kumu Hula Moe Tanaka began her journey in a humble basement, teaching her daughters Hula. Recognizing the importance of preserving Polynesian culture and traditions, she laid the foundation for a legacy that continues to flourish. Though now retired, her daughters, Kalene and Chelsea, carry on this cherished heritage through their dance groups in San Ramon, California, and Molokai, Hawaii. Their achievements as award-winning soloists and their group's success in various competitions reflect the dedication and love instilled by Kumu Moe, whose vision for perpetuating this beautiful culture remains at the heart of their journey.
